2022 Intrinsic Chardonnay
 
 
Its a pretty loud echo bouncing around here... Yes again I’m sorry to say unfortunately there are very limited quantities of this wine! cropping levels were way down in the Chardonnay for vintage 2022. luckily we have our exceptional single vineyard chardonnays Two Mile Hill & Griffins Road to add to the collection.
Another exciting thing is 6000 new chardonnay vines are going in the ground, filling out the remaining empty land surrounding the vineyard. itll look so good on completion & to have extra chardonnay of this calibre is a bloody good feeling.
Harvested 28/3/2022, whole bunch pressed, fermented naturally in 300L hogs heads french & Austrian, during élevage there is no racking, left on full lees no interference with the lees, the wine always goes through full malolactic fermentation on its own, small amount of sulphur post malo in December, racked 21/3/2022 to stainless tank no fining or filtering, bottled 20/10/2022 A small amount of sulphur pre bottling.
The 2021 Intrinsic Chardonnay was one of the most celebrated & highly praised wines we have ever produced, we’re quite simply blown away with everyones response. If its anything to go by the 2022 we feel is a notch up again from the 2021 both excellent wines in their own way reflecting the season at hand. Don’t miss out on this.
